Ever heard of her? Ever heard the song? It's a duet with Pharrell from the movie "Hidden Figures." Ever heard of the movie? She's scheduled to sing it on the talk show "Ellen," which stars everybody's favorite cute lesbian. (Everybody's favorite un-cute lesbian, Rosie O'Donnell doesn't have a talk show at the moment).
Whistle blowers were quick to alert the world to something preacher Burrell said during her last sermon:
First off, I'm sure there are some pervs who got excited hearing or reading Kim's remark. Whatever floats your filthy boat. "You are a woman and will shake your face in another woman's breast, you are perverted."
Ooh, tell me more, Kim. I've been SO NAUGHTY! By the way Kim, "shake your face in another woman's breast..." I have a lower view of what makes a lesbian climax.
Anyway...gays are naturally upset to be called PERVERTED. They would insist they're only QUEER.
"We're here and we're queer" is ok. Being "perverted" isn't. Do you suppose that's a bit like a rapper calling himself a nigga but not a nigger? And would Kim Burrell find either of those latter terms "perverted" or not?
The bigger picture, and an x-rated one, is that most EVERYONE is perverted. If they aren't, they're doing it wrong. Just go flip through your Dr. Ruth. Go check "Joy of Sex."
After all, Kim Burrell is suggesting that a man should not "take a man's penis" in the face. (The mouth, actually). BUT...most good Christians would say that it's also a sin for a WOMAN to "take a man's penis" in the face. Let's not forget that Lenny Bruce was arrested for using the word "cocksucker." So was George Carlin. Many strict interpreters of The Bible (or Koran) find something in there that's anti-oral sex. It might fall under the category of not wasting seed.
What a "sin" may or may not be, has been interpreted and re-interpreted. It was a "sin" to eat meat on Friday. I'm referring to actual meat, and not the slang.
As to "perverted," well, gays will insist in the Lady Gaga anthem: "BORN THAT WAY." You're BORN gay. They have no proof of this, though. Like olives, it may be an acquired taste. You rarely see campy, effeminate boys, after all. Do they take that turn because they weren't born that way, but have developed societal issues? God only knows.
"God hates the sin," says Kim Burrell. Quick to distance herself from gay-bashers, the full quote is:
“I love you because God loves you, but God hates the sin."
How she knows this for a fact, well, that brings up the REAL problem here: RELIGIOUS FANATICISM.
You simply can't argue with the Westboro Baptist lunatics, or Kim Burrell, or the followers of Isis. They all are convinced that there is a God, and this God has given them all the rules and truths. Oh, and if they break the rules, they will be forgiven. And if they don't follow "thou shalt not kill" whether it's a fly, a chicken, or a human, that's ok, too.
We all know that there have been homosexual priests and pedophile priests, and lesbian nuns. There are politicians who openly complain about gays, but have gay sex. Let's just say the sex drive, in general, is easily "perverted."
My question is why deny the obvious? Isn't "50 Shades of Gray" about perversion? At one time oral and anal sex were considered absolute perversions. Are you going to insist that you're BORN with a turn-on for leather, spanking, pantyhose or bondage? Babies wear diapers, and then stop, but SOME are into "infantilism" and find diapers a turn-on. Were they BORN that way? Isn't it a fact that some people find anything "forbidden" a turn-on? Isn't it perverted to enjoy watching violent movies?
For a long time, obscenity was defined as appealing to "prurient interest." This, however, could be anything from upstart views on a subway to mud wrestling to twerking.
The Golden Rule is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Some would like to get done in the face by their own sex.
A Platinum Rule might involve one simple word: TOLERANCE.
Have TOLERANCE for other people, especially if they aren't doing you any harm. Have intolerance for terrorists or noisy neighbors. Anyone talking loudly in a restaurant, whether in drag or not.
Pharrell, Kim's duet partner, Tweeted "I condemn hate speech of any kind." Except, Kim Burrell isn't saying she hates gays. She just thinks they're perverted. She forgives them, up to a point. And she apparently thinks they can be cured. They don't want to be. Maybe because they're enjoying being perverted.
Pharrell also Tweeted: "There is no room in this world for any kind of prejudice. My greatest hope is for inclusion and love for all humanity in 2017 and beyond."
I'm not sure Kim Burrell is prejudiced. Would she refuse to sit next to a gay, the way prejudiced whites refused to sit next to blacks on a bus in Selma, Alabama? "Prejudiced" may be the wrong word.
As for Pharrell's hope "for inclusion and love for all," well, not everyone would want to see their bank teller dressed in drag, or their school teacher wearing fishnets and a bustier, or a woman topless at the beach. There's such a thing as keeping certain activities private. Why? Because when "all is permitted" and nothing is forbidden, then where's the turn-on?
Thursday to perform their duet “I See Victory” from the movie “Hidden Figures.”
