About the NYC Terror Attack - "What does Lou Diamond Phillips think?"

Now that I can avoid the comic cry of "Too soon?" I'd like to address the celebrities who did what they could after a lunatic ISIS jerk (insane Man with Van) rammed his rental into bicyclists.

Thanks for TWEETING.

When I find myself in times of trouble...I generally want to know what Lou Diamond Phillips thinks. And, fortunately, he and a bunch of other B-listers and D-listers obliged.

Celebrities somehow believe they are priests or politicians. Certainly, they are POWERFUL, so if they TWEET, they figure it's a balm to the heart, and chicken soup for the soul.

It's also GREAT PUBLICITY. If you can come up with a Tweet that lazy "journalists" find quotable, you're all over social media.

In that regard, Denis Leary worked overtime. It doesn't get more profound or poetic:

Got that? The last part should be engraved on the Statue of Liberty: WELCOME TO NEW YORK: "City so tall where the apple don't fall - forever. And ever."

I mean, that's beautiful. That's worthy of Jay-Z. Maybe even Kanye.

It's not easy to come up with shit like that. When you suddenly get the shocking news that an asshole in a van rode down a bike lane and flattened mostly tourists, you've got to think: "How can I make this work for ME?" At least, you think that way if you're a celebrity who hasn't done anything lewd enough to get the cover of US WEEKLY.

Another factor with Twitter is that as soon as ANYTHING happens, there's a kneejerk compulsion to make a comment. It's such good therapy. When some demented religious deviant gets out of his dented rental and starts raving Allah-Kazam Akbar or "Hummus Forever," well, who can blame a Lea Michele or a Patricia Arquette losing their minds? Thank GOD for being able to go to TWITTER:

I'm sure hundreds, if not thousands of people turned away from CNN and Fox News and David Muir and all the other news reporters, and read Patricia Arquette instead: "This is a terrible day."

Well, any day you find yourself on Twitter reading Patricia Arquette, your day could be better.

My day was slightly better because I did NOT rush to TWITTER to find out what CELEBRITIES thought of the breaking news. I only found out about these idiotic Tweets hours later, when some lazy "reporter" decided I needed to hear from idiots who couldn't get on "Dancing with the Stars." So instead of rehearsing their twerks, they went to Twitter to be jerks.

"This is an action is the worst of mankind."

Thanks, Patricia. You and the armpit-beard in the van have something in common: English as a second language.

Nothing like a little panic, too, to make a situation so much better.

Oh, that one is just plain eloquent! It reminds me of a Celine Dion lyric from that song about the "Titanic."

Remember everyone, no matter what the disaster, Lea Michele is in your heart.

Well no, she's actually in some gated community, 3,000 miles away from any trouble in The Big Apple, and has an unlisted number. But she's on Twitter.

It does me good to realize that some woman whose name is familiar, but whose work I don't recall ever seeing, indicates that her heart is, what in New York City? Left behind on a bench in Central Park?

Isn't it a shame that Twitter wasn't around when the Twin Towers fell on 9/11? Never mind Mayor Giuliani and the Police Chief and the other officials. Things would've been so much better if Lea Michele had offered a Tweet: "You're here in my heart, and my heart will go on!" Or would Celine Dion have gotten there first, leaving poor Lea to find something else profound to say? Maybe: "This is an action is the worst of mankind."

I was here in New York City for both 9/11, and the van attack. BOTH times, the first thing that came to my mind was, "I wonder what Lou Diamond Phillips thinks of this?"

He failed me on 9/11, but he came through the second time. He took to Twitter and...

I know, it reads like something off a discarded Hallmark card, but it was from the heart. Maybe Lea Michele's heart. After all, the last line is "We Stand With You," so I'm sure that had to mean Lou Diamond Phillips and...Lea Michele.

ISIS thinks they can win because ALLAH is on their side?

Lou Diamond Phillips is on OUR side.

"Allah" has yet to appear. There is no proof he exists. You damn well can't say the same thing about Lou Diamond Phillips.

Boston radio's scorned Michael Felger - Lenny Bruce Syndrome Strikes Again

"Hey, go to too far! Ha ha, go too far! Come on, be outrageous, that's why we pay you!"

"WHOAAAA, NOW YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR!!"

That's the hypocrite shit that comedians, iconoclastic writers, and "shock jock" radio personalities deal with. It's a fine line between love and HATE. One minute everybody's nodding and snickering, and the next they're scowling and walking away.

The latest guy to misjudge an easy pop fly and have it land on his head, is Michael Felger.

A well-liked, superstar pitcher, Roy Halladay, killed himself by joy-riding in his toy plane. This isn't similar to Roberto Clemente, who died in a plane crash while on a mission of mercy. This isn't Thurman Munson, who was a responsible pilot but perished in smoke and wreckage. This as a joy-rider. Thus, "fair game" for a loudmouth shock jock.

In another time and place, a Howard Stern may have reached over to get some jokes from Jackie Martling, or have Fred hit the sound-effects switch for some ironic noises. You might recall that when a Latina singer got killed, Stern's hilarious bit was to run the sound of bullets. This was not unlike the "novelty" record years earlier, where Gunga Din is hilariously shot to pieces while giving out with fart-like bugle noises (because, ha ha, he no longer has enough air in his lungs...)

All Felger did was be a typical opinionated radio guy, and express his honest feelings. Which were that this incident was not a joking matter, but a damn shame. A tragedy? Maybe not. The guy was joy-riding and being a daredevil, an irresponsible thing to do to himself and to his family. YouTube footage reveals some of this, as a guy with a camcorder keeps cursing illiterately while watching the reckless behavior...before piloting his boat to the crash scene, once again loading up on his "Holy Shit" gasps.

You can find Felger's broadcast online easily. You can hear for yourself, that he was frustrated, surprised, dismayed, and calling Halladay a "moron" not to get a laugh, or because his audience would expect insults, but because its the truth. Lenny Bruce was interested in the truth, even more than laughs.

Years after the event, Paul McCartney characterized Mark David Chapman as "the jerk of all jerks." Should the media have been outraged? "Oh that McCartney, you don't use a word like JERK."

In the anger of the moment, Felger gave a coherent, kneejerk response that most any casual sports fan would understand and even agree with. He probably didn't think Halladay's family was listening to the broadcast. Otherwise, he may have used some restraint. Should he have used that restraint anyway? Ask the comedian who tells a fat joke when there's a fat person in the audience. You can't be mindful of hurting everyone's feelings, when your job is to be a truth-teller or an iconoclast.

The print media, which always hates the flashier, better-paid radio and TV personalities, was quick to headline what an awful-awful person this Michael Felger is. For telling the truth. Calling a moron a moron. He did it with apologies and he explained his point of view and why he believed what he believed. The situation was news involving a senseless loss of life. It wasn't the familiar "risk-taking sportsman perishes in an unsafe small plane" complaint. It was that this guy was tripling the odds of catastrophe by deliberately dipping his plane only feet away from the water.

The print media, in his case, a finger-pointing reporter named Evan Grossman headlined: "Apology not accepted: Boston sports radio host is Jerk of the Week for vile Roy Halladay rant." One might make a case that he simply wrote about a "vile...rant" to get people to read him, and encourage more banner ads for the Daily News. What was he doing that was any different from what Felger did? Express an outrageous opinion to get attention for yourself and make a living.

Felger's "apology not accepted" by some other media stooge with an opinion.

If everyone worried about offending someone, newspapers would be blank sheets of paper, and there would be nothing but the sound of crickets on the radio. Felger and Grossman are just a pair of guys seeking out like-minded readers, and sometimes trying to change a point of view. So THIS piece doesn't end with "Grossman, your article NOT ACCEPTED" as valid journalism. It was accepted and paid for by the Daily News, and some people agree with it. But a lot of people also agree with what Felger had to say. Should he have said it at all? That's what he was being paid for.

Louis CK Destroyed Because He was a JERK...off?

Does Rolling Stone know HOT? Crappy B -- IS NOT

What in the WORLD is going on with Rolling Stone? They kept putting baby-faced assassins on the cover, calling them CUTE, then they kept running topless shots of Bieber, and cover stories on various BOY band hunks. Ooh ooh, everyone, here comes Harry Styles!

And now? I guess after people began saying "Rolling Stone is SO GAY," they decided to try to do something about it. Which, you know, is sort of like Kevin Spacey hiring a Harlem prostitute in an effort to turn straight.

Speaking of Harlem Prostitutes...

WHAT the HELL is "HOT" about that cover? I mean, assuming you're not a pimp looking for new meat to sell on 125th Street.

Is this 1977? Donna Summer back in town? This "Bad Girl" is somebody named Cardi B. Her sister is Mardis Gras. Or Mel B. Or something? Is this another new trend we must suffer through? Idiot morons who are so stupid they can't spell their last name?

I did suffer through a performance by this idiot. She was on Jimmy Kimmel's show, and ruined it. She came on at the end, and "rapped" some self-important crap about how wonderful she is. That's what rappers do. They strut around and talk shit about themselves. When they get famous, they start feuds and talk shit about everyone else.

Kimmel dutifully came over to her and thanked her for her wonderful performance. After all, somebody who looks as stupid and trashy as THIS bitch, you're thankful she didn't curse or piss on the floor.

WHAT is sexy about this image? Haven't you seen it in every issue of Players? Isn't it the reason why you no longer pass a newsstand and see magazines named Jaguar, Duke, Dude or Gent? Because THIS corny crap is NOT HOT. No, it's snot.

Crappy B is an ordinary looking bitch, and garishly lolling her tongue around in her mouth makes her several years behind a little white girl named MILEY CYRUS. As for the outfit, it's Victoria's Secret stuff found in a Salvation Army Thrift Shop.

And THIS is what Rolling Stone puts on a cover? When they're trying to SELL the magazine and run away?

You'd think the publisher of Rolling Stone was gay, or something.

Oh. He is.

You remember these?

Embarrassing. Those covers do not look like they're for a music album. More like "Gay Pedophiles Monthly."

Before anyone starts mewling, "Oh, this guy is SO homophobic," I'll remind you that I was an editor of a rock mag myself. ROCKET didn't neglect or deny the "wild side" of rock. There was room in its 100 pages for "cute" pix of Andy Gibb and Rod Stewart with their shirts off, and I devoted several pages to an interview with gender-bending disco star Amanda Lear. Because ALL types of music were welcome in ROCKET. The important thing was not whether an artist was gay or transsexual, but whether the music was worth something, and relevant to our readers. Harry Styles' music is worth shit to most Rolling Stone subscribers and trying to change the demographic makes no sense. Cardi B's music is worth shit to most Rolling Stone subscribers, and her "look" is dated.

Wenner approved this lame Cardi B. hooker tongue-tangling trash-lingerie cover because this is his idea of what heterosexuals find HOT in 2017?

This is not getting him off the hook in being a kind of Kevin Spacey of the publishing world. Spacey made unwanted homosexual advances on various straights. This can be pretty damaging, when some 18 year-old guy finds himself being considered a pushover for a gay man. It has to send a message of not just, "this actor is arrogant and pushy," but "what the HELL kind of signal am I sending, that a guy can put his hand on his thigh or down the front of my pants, and it would be ok?"

And what kind of signal has Jann Wenner been sending, by turning Rolling Stone into a weird combo of "Tiger Beat" and "Beat Off to Blueboy?" When you've subscribed to Rolling Stone, you want the profanity of Matt Taibbi, and gnarly covers of creepy aging rockers like Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger and Neil Young. You do NOT want HARRY STYLES, and you don't want to keep up with a topless Bieber. And it makes you damn uncomfortable to be shown that kind of homo-erotica as if you want to see it, or as if that's the reason you subscribed.

So yes, this IS a heterosexual cover for a change. NICE TRY. Too bad it's corny, dated, and NOT HOT. And Cardi B. as a singer and musician doesn't belong in Rolling Stone at all.

PORE, POUR, PITIFULLY POOR PROOFREADING AT THE DAILY NEWS

Hey, it's THE INTERNET.

Nobody cares about PROOFREADING. It's FREE. You get what you PAY FOR.

Today at the NY Daily News website, a reporter demonstrated her inability to distinguish PORING over something and POURING over something.

Ironically, her article was about somebody OBSERVANT. (No, not observent).

A scholar discovered a few bits of grasshopper were stuck in the heavy globs of a Van Gogh painting. The scholar was "POURING OVER" the painting at the time.

Unlike a glaring mistake of writing POURING instead of PORING, the little bit of grasshopper stuck in the painting can NOT even be seen with the naked eye. It was only uncovered due to a careful routine examination of the paint.

Van Gogh often worked outside, to capture the fields and flowers exactly as they were. He wrote that a drawback was when the wind kicked up and added some bits of dirt to the wet paint, or some gnats and flies got stuck. It's actually a bit of a surprise that more little creatures aren't stuck in his paintings. Some probably are simply buried in an added blob of pigment.

Why, there may even be a few insects in one of his own Self-Pour Traits. You might see them in his skin, where he did the Self-Pore work. All this, while bitterly complaining how pore he was.

SOCIAL DISEASE MEDIA PART TWO: DUSTIN HOFFMAN, ANTI-SEMITISM

People are saying, correctly, that you’re better off WITHOUT social media.

You’re better off NOT checking Twitter or Facebook or Instagram. All these sites do is raise your blood pressure and lower your IQ. You see the opinions of mindless bigots and blamers. The reality is that there are a lot of sick idiots in the world and they vomit their bile on social media, and you get splashed in the eyes with it.

Today, the second-most trending topic, after the NYC Terrorist attack, is...DUSTIN HOFFMAN?

5'6" Hoffman is certainly the smaller target of the two, but why bother Tweeting about him?

The answer? Antisemitism, of course.

It's the diseased idiots of SOCIAL MEDIA seizing on some reason to go into a rage of name-calling and scapegoating. It's hapless, helpless heaping hunks of horribleness going on a harangue. What they are doing on social media, is opening the bathroom door, just a crack, so they can tweet a few dozen stinking words that show what SHITS they really are. What demented, dangerous pieces of dung they are.

Better to not let reality interfere. Better to ignore Social Media. It's too scary.

Hoffman.

Hoffman, like many, including ex-President George H.W. Bush, is a famous guy a little too frisky with his words and actions. Why? Because he can.

Bush told some actress that his favorite book was "David Cop A Feel," and then he pinched her ass.

Hoffman made some off-color remarks, in the presence of others on the set, to a dippy 17 year-old intern. A lot of people were laughing, and this girl wasn't discouraging his gags, but Hoffman crossed the line. It just took her 30 years and a byline in the Hollywood Reporter to declare her grief.

BUT WHAT DO WE LEARN FROM SOCIAL MEDIA?

That Hoffman is a JEW.

Check this Tweet from a someone with over a THOUSAND followers:

And you thought it was just a story about an egocentric actor being impudent and mouthy? Nope nope. It's about a JEW who didn't know his place.

Apparently Mr. Westcott figures it's ok for any guy to make sexy remarks as long as it's to his own kind.

Just to double check, I took a look at some of this guy's other Tweets.

NOBODY is tossing him off Twitter. Nobody is asking HIM to apologize. He's just another fine fellow on Social Media. He's just another hypocrite who says unpleasant things and assumes nobody should be offended, and if they ARE offended, they should just shut up.

That people are running to the media with tattletales about celebrities is, perhaps, a good thing.

We should all remember that not everyone might appreciate certain types of humor and chummy touchy-feely behavior. BUT...it's not going to change anything.

Reporting terrorist attacks is just encouraging more of them ("Wow, I can get my face in the paper, and Allah reads the paper, so I'll get some extra hummus when I go to heaven....")

And reporting bad behavior is NOT stopping people from being crude and disgusting, especially if it's in private an it becomes a he-said she-said. The Cosby scandal: there are guys giving roofies to women in bars every night. The women aren't thinking, "I better keep an eye on my drink, I don't know this guy that well." And after? They are often told by other women, "Forget it, it happens. Get back to dating. If you report it there's no proof it wasn't consensual."

What SOCIAL DISEASE MEDIA proves, is that for every bad thing that happens, there are THOUSANDS of morons who misinterpret it, think it's not so bad, or use it for scapegoating.

I say this with some regret and empathy. Women get cat-calls and wolf-whistles every day on the street and have to accept this as just minor "nuisance." Telling off some jerk is asking for trouble.

I've fought many a battle with eBay, for one example, in demanding respect for women in general, and famous actresses I know in particular. It's even gotten into the newspapers. I'm glad to say that eBay's actually changed its attitude toward "fantasy nude" images of celebrities sold on the site. Some things you can change, or at least call attention to as a problem. But boorish behavior is NOT going to change.

While not sexual, some incidents that happened to me in the workplace not long ago, were disturbing, unwanted and offensive.

I volunteer my time in certain ways and at certain places. In one place, another office worker, male and not gay, would regularly bother me with his rotten jokes and boring opinions of current events. To me, his crap was just as annoying as Dustin Hoffman ordering lunch of "a hard boiled egg and a soft boiled clitoris." If it's not witty, SHUT UP.

All I could do was avoid this idiot. I didn't want to tell him, "DON'T tell me jokes" or "I find you BORING." So I just avoided him, which is often the easiest and best defense. Did it work? NO. A bunch of us were ordering lunch, and this guy happened to be next to me when I called out my order to the person on the phone with the take-out place. What did my nemesis do? He grinned broadly, reached over and began rubbing my belly.

OK, I'm not a woman and he didn't touch an erogenous zone. But does that mean that I wanted my privacy invaded? That I wanted this IDIOT touching me? He thought he was being amusing.

Again, all I could do was make a mental note on this mental case: "Do NOT stand next to him."

Too bad he wasn't famous, then I could write about it in The Hollywood Reporter and it might go viral.

But going viral in SOCIAL DISEASE MEDIA rarely helps. Yes, Hoffman is now embarrassed. He might, like Kevin Spacey, eend up getting less work, or having an award suddenly taken away by some huffy person "shocked, SHOCKED" at bad behavior. But the Hoffman story opened him up to that can of worms called antisemites, who were just waiting to find a new target and example for their bilious hatred and scapegoating. The "real news" told us that Hoffman, like quite a few celebrities, can be tacky, self-important, and not nearly as funny as he thinks he is. SOCIAL MEDIA reminded me that there are mindless antisemites in the world who look at Hoffman not as a celebrity but...as...a...JEW.

How many dozens or hundreds of antisemitic remarks on Hoffman were on social media because of this incident? Don't expect ME to be counting them. The less time spent on Social Media the better.

Sure, I wonder about this nut that I quoted. Has he watched any of Hoffman's movies? Enjoyed them? Is he one of those weird racists who doesn't MIND somebody of another color or religion as long as they don't get too close? In the old days, Sammy Davis Jr, was ok if he was up on stage, amusing his white audience. He was not so amusing when me married a white woman. He was even less amusing when he revealed himself as Jewish.

Fact:

There's a lot of bad in the world, but most of it involves jerks on SOCIAL MEDIA making sorry situations worse.

SOCIAL DISEASE MEDIA part one: The NYC Bike Attack

A major reason NOT to be on Social Media anymore: the coverage of the NYC terrorist attack in Lower Manhattan.

If you check the real media (what Trump calls "the fake news") you get the facts. You know the who, what, when, where and why. Which is all you need to know. Because what social media gives you, is the OPINION of ASSHOLES.

Who needs that?

Twitter (and Facebook and Instgram) maybe had 20% knee jerk reactions from people gasping "RIP Victims" or "Sad to See It Happen Again" etc. etc. The rest of it was inane posturing, stupid conjecture, and just plain racism.

Just two examples. Some ASSHOLE who calls himself "Educating Liberals" displayed his ignorance by stating his idiot OPINION as fact:

Yeah? What polling company are YOU with, Mr. Education? Why is it that Social Disease Media is dominated by retards screaming about "Libtards?" Any tragedy, any disaster, becomes a reason for some asshole to take off his tin foil hat, rush to Twitter and start babbling about how great Trump and guns are. And damn the Treehuggers and Snowflakes and all those FOOLS who have things like common sense and manners.

Here's "The Persistence." Maybe he was going to call himself "The Situation" but it was already taken. What was in the walnut brain of this greasy-haired asshole?

Try reasoning with someone like THAT. Now remember that there are MILLIONS like him, and they helped make a PRESIDENT out of an obnoxious crooked realtor who became a bankrupt casino exec and a reality talk show star.

Witless people like "The Persistence" really think that Senator Schumer is reading Tweets? Reading WITLESS insinuating Tweets aping the snarky style of David Spade from 30 years ago? "How's that Diversity Visa Program working out?" Gee, Greasy, "but tell us how you REALLY think." You know, "JUST SAYIN'."

Go on Social Disease media, and you don't find many people offering a few simple words of strength or encouragement. It's just roid rage from maniacs guzzling Red Bull and muscle pills and a few too many boner pills as well.

Accept, once the shock wears off, that NOTHING can be done about people like this NYC jerk, or the Boston Marathon bomber. These were seemingly assimilated people with no major reason to be homicidal. They got "radicalized?" They have low IQ's and a lower resistance to murdering innocent strangers? You can just as easily say the world's gone mad, as a particular religion. Yes, as Bill Maher loves to say, ISLAM is responsible for almost ALL the terrorist attacks, and it's ISLAM that has most of the organized maniacs on the loose. But how civilized is Kim Jong-Un or Putin?

Terrorist attacks are just plain mindless. 9/11 was an attack on the World Trade Center. What WAS that building? It was a WORLD TRADE CENTER. It was not anything but a big building full of people trying to make deals ALL OVER THE WORLD. The victims weren't all white American Christians.

In this case? Only two of the eight victims were actually Americans. Most were from Argentina. The lone woman who died was a tourist mom from Belgium.

Try and reason with a religious fanatic. Show him pictures of the victims, including a bunch from Argentina who could easily be mistaken as guys from Palestine, Israel, Morocco or Afghanistan, and ask, "Do you really feel proud of yourself, offing these guys? Do you realize you could've easily knocked off a bunch of Muslim tourists? THIS was a PLAN?"

Then again, you could ask any of these religious fanatics, "How weak and pathetic is your ALLAH-Kazam, that he need YOUR help? YOU, a filthy, mentally-challenged pubic-bearded shit-for-brains. Isn't Islam's God, who made the world, powerful enough to make a flood that would drown ONLY the miserable Christians and Jews? What does ALLAH need a rag-tag bunch of morons riding around in rented vans, mowing down strangers for?"

Then again, why do you we need SOCIAL DISEASE MEDIA? Like the religious fanatics, the Twitter idiots are people who have a psychotic attitude toward absolute strangers, and the very mistaken belief that they are right, sane, and intelligent.
