The show (produced by Jay Ward and hosted by Hans Conried) put new soundtracks to public domain silent films. It was kind of a new spin on the old photo caption game. Back then, magazines regularly had funny foto features, and even Shel Silverstein put out a few books that added fresh captions to old movie stills.
