GROUNDHOG DAY

There is an American celebration day where men in top hats grab a frightened rodent, hoist it up in front of people, and shout about a shadow. Or not a shadow. If the animal is dropped, or tries to bite, everyone laughs.

I wonder about how superstitions and rituals in BACKWARD countries compare to this.
